Butter Room, the Global Cuisine restaurant designed by Bent Chair was created to transport you to a European-inspired Asian getaway. The idea emerged from Mr. Neeraj Jain's travel sojourns when the co-founder was left spellbound by the origins of Chinoiserie. "Essentially, chinoiserie was how french people perceived the Chinese pattern making and converted them into their demasks and pastoral tapestries, for palaces and residences." This became the primary brief that was ultimately brainstormed on, giving rise to Nomimono.Using re-purposeful techniques like refurbished furniture in an already existing space was one of the significant ways to sustainably approach the project. Nomimono holds the baton for dreamy interiors through sustainable methods. Every element present in the space was designed with detail—from the Japanese Sakura Flower-inspired Chandelier to the Chinese and Japanese Kimono patterns and the trelliswork. The fundamental look envisioned a subtle fusion of Asian traditional styles patterns, transformed into a contemporary form. Not to mention the Rabbit mascot accompanied by the rabbit lights was symbolic of Asian sculptures. Alas, Nomimono, the Japanese word for 'a drink,' gives a unique personality to the space filled with energy and mystique.
